First president of the
Maryland Society of Surveyors.
Maryland Society of Surveyors.
Howard Dubord Tustin, Sr. (1890-1960), Maryland Registered Surveyor No. 186, entered his father's firm's employ in 1907 after graduating from Baltimore City College, and brought his high school chum George E. Wimmer along with him. It is likely that he had been conscripted into occasional service by his father prior to that.
A founding member of the Maryland Society of Surveyors, the statewide professional association for surveyors, he served as its first president, and was later nominated by it to serve on Maryland's Board of Registration, although he was not appointed by the Governor to serve on it.
Mr. Tustin died in 1960, having devoted 53 years to the firm.
